Did you know that when you eat almost anything natural your body goes right to work deconstructing whatever you just ate into groups of nutrients that serve all of the functions of your mortal human framework? Your body will do as much work as is necessary to get at those resources, and put them to work repairing, and building the next version of yourself.
when we eat foods that are made from natural resources but engineered to be tastier, last longer on a shelf, or just be better looking than natural foods we are trusting that whoever created these foods made a product that works in our bodies the same way that natural foods do. We are either instinctively trusting that, or absent mindedly not caring whether they do, or not. Either way we are accepting the consequences with open arms. When you eat most engineered foods your body goes to work breaking them down and figuring out what is usable, and what is not.
If there are materials that are not usable your body will work at moving them out of your system, however it can only do this at a certain rate, if your intake is more than what you can process in any given period of time you are slowly becoming a storage facility for toxic material that will eventually take its toll on your total health. Part of me wonders if this plays a role in all of the dysfunctions of the body that we are facing today. It’s almost like as hard as the body is willing to work eventually there is no overcoming the disruption in its own balance.
As I said in the beginning of this post your body is willing to work as hard as it can to get you the building blocks that it needs in order to survive. What if I told you that by putting your body to work utilizing the resources found in most faux food you are actually causing more harm to yourself than you could ever justify with the resources that you do end up getting from those foods? Is the taste worth the difference?
How many years have you personally pumped the wrong kind of nutrition into your body, and how much time are you willing to put into taking the right steps to make amends for your mindless mistakes?
By taking at least a dedicated period of time, if not the rest of your life to eat clean natural resources and focusing on a health metabolism, and immune system you could actually chip away at the stockpile of unusable resources that you have collected over the years giving your body a fighting chance to overcome the circumstances that you personally have created for yourself. It’s like making amends for past mistakes with an instant reward for doing so.
My challenge to you is to stop what you're doing with your nutrition, and to really evaluate the benefit of the foods that you decide to consume. Try to make a positive change for at least 30 days, and see if you notice a difference. If you do, dial it in a little more. If you keep getting a benefit then keep dialing it in. If giving up the tantalizing taste of food engineered to make your taste buds do cartwheels could help you live longer, and be more capable in the moments that matter would that be worth it, or not? Your answer to this question defines your future. Choose wisely!
A wise friend once told me “going to the gym is penance for the Twinkie you ate yesterday.”
